My 2018-19 project has been to capture and express the light, mood and forms from a disused smithy, close to Drummore on the Rhinns of Galloway. It hasn't been in use for 18 years and it is fascinating to witness the process of the decay that is taking place. Many tools and other items used by the blacksmith are laid out just as though he is returning to use them, but with a coating of rust, dust and cobwebs.See my blog post 'Life with the webs' for my first impressions of this fascinating place.
